Matang Historical Complex







The Matang Historical Complex (formerly know as The Kota Ngah Ibrahim Historical Complex) is located at Matang, Perak. It was built by Ngah Ibrahim, who carries the title Orang Kaya Menteri Paduka Tuan. He was the son of Cek Long Jaafar, the first Malay who opened tin mines in the Larut areas in 1840.

Collection and Galleries
The museum’s collections consists of all types of artifacts related to the chronology of events leadin to the erection of the complex itselft.
Permanent Exhibition
The museum’s permanent exhibition displays artifacts related to the chronology of the building construction and the building’s usage beginning from Cek Long Jaafar’s family, Ngah Ibrahim, English Rule, Japanese Occupation, Matang Malay Teaching College and the Malay School.

Daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
